13 best Samsung Galaxy S7 cases right now
The Samsung Galaxy S7 is powerful, stylish and has a great camera, but it needs a case. That glass and metal body won't look so nice if you drop it on a concrete floor.
Despite that whole 'tougher' and waterproof thing, most people will still want to wrap up their new S7 in a protective case. These things aren't cheap, after all, and all that glass and metal won't take to kindly to a full-on pavement face plant.
Thankfully, with this being one of the hottest phones of the year, there's already a wide selection of top notch Galaxy S7 cases on the market. We've rounded up a few we particularly like the look of.
A good number of the cases on this list are from Samsung itself. The company has really gone to town this year with a commendable range of cases rather than just endless variations on a theme.

OBLIQ SLIM META
The Slim Meta gives the Samsung Galaxy S7 a sleek, brushed aluminium-like finish, though it actually provides reassuringly solid dual-layer polycarbonate protection. This extends to button protectors, so those precariously exposed volume dials wont get wrecked in a drop.

BALLISTIC URBANITE SELECT
Ballistic's cases tend to reinforce the corners of the case with extra padding. Given that these invariably bear the brunt of any droppages, it's a smart idea. The Urbanite also looks distinctly smart, with a funky wood finish.

SPECK CANDYSHELL
Fancy something a little snazzier to cover your Galaxy S7? Speck's CandyShell range provides a number of lairy (and not-so-lairy) designs to catch the eye. Don't let the flashy looks deceive you though - Speck's cases are grippy, snug, and tough to the tune of a military certification.

SPIGEN SLIM ARMOR
We like Spigen's Slim Armor case because it provides rugged protection through a dual-layer design and Air Cushion technology, as well as a raised lip for screen protection. It also throws in a kickstand for hands-free media viewing. Bonus!

SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 CLEAR VIEW COVER
The Samsung Clear View Cover is actually a full-on folio case, but the front cover is semi-transparent, so you can still see the display. In fact, you can even interact with the phone while the cover is closed, answering calls and skipping tracks without lifting the lid.

SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 S VIEW COVER
This Samsung case is a little cheaper than the Clear View Cover, but it still offers all-round protection. The difference here is that there's a small cut-out for the Galaxy S7's always-on display feature, letting you keep an eye on the date and time even when it's closed up.

MOPHIE JUICE PACK
This third party case isn't available just yet, but for some it will be a must-buy, despite the high price. Mophie has made a name for itself making smartphone cases that also extend the battery life of the phone, and the Galaxy S7 version is no exception. Its 3300mAh battery grants 60 percent more battery life, whilst also supporting wireless charging.
Price: £89.95

SAMSUNG KEYBOARD COVER
Back to Samsung's impressive range, and the Samsung Keyboard Cover has to be the most outlandish of the lot. It's a standard rear-case, but it comes with a clip-on physical keyboard that essentially gives you S7 a full BlackBerry typing experience. This one will be big with the business crowd.

LIFEPROOF FRE
As the name suggests, LifeProof makes cases that can take a real beating. Of course, the Galaxy S7 is already IP68 certified, which means it can survive a brief dip in water and dust. But the LifeProof Fre is listed as "Waterproof, dirtproof, snowproof, dropproof," so you can bet it provides extra protection. Sure enough, it's thick edges pretty much envelope the device, protecting it from droppages.

SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 LED COVER
Samsung's LED Cover reminds us a lot of the HTC Dot View case, which has been in production for a couple of years now. It's a folio case that features a funky LED display on the front showing the time and other basic notifications. As will Samsung's other covers, you can also accept calls and control your alarm without opening the lid.
Price: £49.99
OTTERBOX SYMMETRY
OtterBox is another top notch rugged case supplier, and its new Symmetry series looks like a good bet for protecting you S7. Its certified Drop+ protection offers "dual defensive layers" and a raised, bevelled edge that will protect that perilously exposed AMOLED display.
Price: £29.99
SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 BACK PACK CASE
Think of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Back Pack Case as Samsung's own official take on the Mophie Juice Pack. It too is a rear cover that also provides extra charge - in this case 2000mAh. That's slightly less, but it does look sleeker.
Price: £69.99
CASE-MATE TOUGH NAKED
No matter how nice the case, it's always a shame when you have to cover up your new phone - particularly when it's as handsome as the Samsung Galaxy S7. The Case-Mate Tough Naked (steady) minimises the visual impact whilst providing decent protection thanks to an opaque bumper and clear plastic back.
