How to find out who has read your WhatsApp group messages - Hint: It's got nothing to do with blue ticks

This simple trick takes the guesswork out of WhatsApp group messaging, by showing you which members of the group have seen your message

WhatsApp
WhatsApp has 900 million users worldwide
Whether you're organising a night out or planning a holiday, WhatsApp is one of the best mobile apps for chatting with groups of friends.
In one-to-one messages, it is easy to see when a message you have sent has been read by the recipient, because two blue ticks appear under the message in question.
However, in group chats in can be less clear, because the blue ticks only appear when everyone in the group has read the message.
But there is a way to check which members of the group have read your message and which haven't - and it's got nothing to do with the blue ticks.
Here's how to do it on Android:
  1. Do a long press on a message sent by you
  2. This reveals an "i" with a circle around it
  3. Tapping on it shows you who the message was delivered to, and read by
And here's how to do it on iOS:
  1. Open a chat
  2. Swipe your message from right to left
  3. See delivery and read notifications
It's as simple as that. Now you can see exactly which members of your group have read your message, and which are asleep or just useless at checking their phones.
WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook, is currently the most popular messaging app in the world, with more than 900 million users.
Last month, it announced that it was scrapping the yearly 69p subscription fee , opting instead to charge companies to communicate with customers using the platform.
