Top 10 British YouTubers: The 'rich list' of online vlogging celebritie

Forget TV shows and films - the real celebrities are found vlogging on YouTube
It's hard to believe that YouTube has been around for ten long years.
In that time, savvy young Brits have become international celebrities and used the video-sharing platform to earn themselves millions.
Approximately 300 hours of video are uploaded to the site every MINUTE and there are over 1 billion users around the globe.
Rising to the top of that kind of pile is no easy task - but we've compiled a list of those that have managed it. And earned a packet in the process.

10 Caspar Lee

Casper Lee was born in Paddington but grew up in South Africa. He's back now and can be found posting videos under the name dicasp - which stands for director Caspar.
And among the video pranks and challenges, he also ropes in special guests such as Game of Thrones' actress Maisie Williams to chat to his over four million subscribers.

9 Tanya Burr

Fashion and beauty vlogger Tanya Burr started her YouTube channel in 2009. After years of make-up tutorials and fashion advice, she launched a cosmetics range in 2014.

8 Charlie McDonnell

The original British YouTube superstar, Charlie McDonnell launched his channel in 2007 and counts polymath Stephen Fry among his fans.
He set up the channel while still in school and went full-time after finishing his studies - he bought a house and now out-earns his parents.

7 Jackson Harries

What originally started as a plan to film a gap year abroad turned into a YouTube channel called JacksGap that Harries stars in with his twin brother, Finn.
A particular highlight sees the twins travel across India in a rickshaw.

6 Joe Sugg

The younger brother of Zoe, Joe Sugg is the tousle-haired British picture of a YouTube vlogger.
He posts under the name ThatcherJoe to over four million subscribers and often includes his sister in his videos.

5 Dan Howell

Posting under the username danisnotonfire, Howell makes videos "about how awkward I am and people laugh at me".
Being awkward hasn't stopped him reaching over four-and-a-half million subscribers and landing a gig as a radio presenter on BBC Radio 1.

4 Joseph Garrett

The first video gamer in our list, Garrett posts videos about the hugely popular online game Minecraft as a character called Stumpy Cat.
And with the help of Disney, he launched an educational series of videos called Wonder Quest.

3 Zoe Sugg

Zoe Sugg, or Zoella to her legion of fans, is one of YouTube's most famous superstars. She shares make-up and fashion tips and insights into her life.
Online fame brought her a lucrative book deal and the following tome, Girl Online, has sold over 350,000 copies.

2 Tom Cassell

Creator of TheSyndicateProject, Cassell has gained over eight million subscribers by commenting on video games like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto 5.
In between playing games, he finds time to jump out of planes and go white-water rafting.

1 Olajide "JJ" Olatunji

KSI YouTube
Better known by his YouTube name Ksiolajideb or simply KSI, Olatunji boasts a massive nine million subscribers to his channel.
Knwon predominantly for video games - particularly the FIFA football series - he is also a comedian and a rapper. In March 2015, KSI gained a UK Top 40 single with "Lamborghini".
